Why Is Water Coolant Leaking From The Back Of An Engine – I noticed that I have a nice small leak coming from the bottom of the bell and the engine, see the picture.
What is this? I have checked all the radiator hoses, radiators and more. And there are no visible leaks under the hood. Could it be that the rear engine’s listening bowl is in the bell?
Why Is Water Coolant Leaking From The Back Of An Engine
There is a 30mm ball screw (head) at the back of the block, on the radiator side, to seal the cooling galley. It is located directly above the bell tower. or the rear cooling pad at the top of the dryer head. Can one of these leak? Have you used a leak detection tool? I hate to say it, but is it possible to break the block above the slope? Best wishes!

I don’t see any cracks or wet spots on the block at the top of the bell tower.

Is there a leak from the heater hose through this area and through the firewall?

To answer the question at the end of post #1, there are three types of “washers” behind the block, inside the bell tower. One is a round lip seal that surrounds the crankshaft, the other is a flat seal that seals the cover. , and another of the two “cigarette” seals on the sides of the back of the main seal. All of them seal the engine oil.

Do what Greg said, get a sphygmomanometer. If you have an S3 or older, most auto parts stores will charge you one that works. It can flow from above.
So if there is absolutely nothing on the outside of the bell tower that I can find causing it, the block inside the bell tower may have cracked? 😖 Do you think I might be able to see the bell tower if we remove the cover plate from the bottom? Click to expand… You can remove this icon and view. It’s easy to do, but as mentioned before, the rear seals will sink.
Coolant Leak When Parked
Do a compression test and look at the back of the engine where the cylinder head is attached to the block.
Why do you think you will get a cracked block? Is the engine overheating and/or damaged?

I will finish it later and look for a dynamic model system and such if I can see it properly.
The 2L engine is from my grandpa’s ’72 sedan that was rebuilt several years ago, stored for about 20 years and used exclusively for the last 10 years before the rest was rebuilt. the car.

Go ahead and do the weight test I suggested in post #2 and report back. Best wishes!
Do they pile up on the garage floor? Does the cooling level decrease? Does it only flow while sitting or only when the car is hot (under some pressure)?
Antifreeze Leak In Back Of Engine?
Spiderserie4 said: Does it stack on the garage floor? Does the cooling level decrease? Does it only flow while sitting or only when the car is hot (under some pressure)? Click to expand… Yes it folds, I think it only flows when running or warm. Does not leak after cooling. Just took the car back because the interior work was perfect, so I’m not sure of the original condition.
Clean the engine, check the pressure and see how fast the water is disappearing. If it’s not too bad, just watch it and leave the tank half full. A few bottles of rock, in front of the fire close the bar and rebuild – no competition.
Thank you all for your help. And if you’re in the Phoenix area, please feel free to stop by and show me around.
This is an old thread, you may not get an answer and you can revive an old thread. Please consider creating a new topic. Thursday morning I went to work and noticed it wasn’t as hot as usual, but I chalked it up to the fact that it was -18F outside and continued to work. when i parked i noticed steam coming from the intake and between the top of the hood and the windshield. I looked down and there was a little cold water. Got home, turned it on today to try and see where it came from. There is a leak from the rear of the passenger side engine (photo attached) that gets wet when the engine is off and drains when running. It only takes a minute or two at a time to hopefully avoid spoilage if I’m not cooking on my commute to work. From browsing the forums my best guess is pan vanlley washers. We’ll see if you all agree. I checked the oil, when I put it in, the level is correct and it doesn’t seem to be low, hopefully it’s not a problem.
