Who Has The Cheapest Motorcycle Insurance Rates

First, the cost of motorcycle insurance varies greatly from country to country. It’s $1,360 a year in California and just $382 in North Dakota. There are many reasons for this difference, including how long it takes to drive, how many other cars are on the road and how dangerous the road is. One change can be seen when it comes to the level of transportation. Many states have high driving rates, such as Mississippi (1.38%), Texas (1.67%) and Alabama (2.25%). But other states have the highest number of motorcycles on the road, including Wisconsin (5.89%) and South Dakota (9.47%).

Geico Motorcycle Insurance Review (2022)

There is also a correlation between the percentage of motorcycles on the road and how much it costs to insure. In other words, it is cheaper to get motorcycle insurance if many other people in your area ride motorcycles. Just compare the regions across the Northern and Southern Plains. 13.82% of all vehicles on the road in Montana are motorcycles, and they cost $532 on average to insure. In Mississippi, motorists only want 1.38% of the market rate and have to pay $677 in insurance.

This raises the question of cause and effect. Do high insurance costs make fewer drivers? Or will the popularity of motorcycles force insurance companies to lower their rates to stay competitive? We’re not sure how to answer that question, but President Trump’s trade wars have certainly raised the cost of owning motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson.

Why do you think it costs more to insure a motorcycle in some states but not others? Let us know in the comments.
