“I told Dairy Farmers and Kraft (former owners) that I would drop my name campaign if they could show me the profile of this fellow (Edward William Kuhn),” Hagan said.

Hagan said the efforts of the Black Lives Matter movement played a role in the final decision to change the name.
He added that criticism had been received before he supported changing the name as a symbol of Australia’s race.

Coon Chick Inn is an American chain of three restaurants founded by Maxon Lester Graham and Adelaide Burt in 1925.

It flourished until the late 1950s. The restaurant’s name was Koon, which was considered racist, and the restaurant’s logo was made to look like a smiling cartoon of an American woman.
