Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play FPS title and is currently available for download on PC (via Battle.net), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Known for its exciting seasonal events. Some of the most iconic cosmetics, voice lines, and maps come directly from the many events Blizzard has already added to the Color Deck. but

One of the most popular events among fans is the Lunar New Year event, which runs from January 17th to February 1st this year and celebrates the Year of the Rabbit. But this time it’s not the same.

The fan favorite event fell flat this year for a number of reasons. Here are five things that can make the event even better.

It has already received strong criticism for its new monetization model, which has moved from one-time payments to a paid battle pass and cosmetic system similar to other games in the genre. The problem is that

Initializing Systems! Updating Competitive Play For Overwatch 2

Gamers are used to a certain model since 2016 and now everything is much more expensive.

Compared to the cost of cosmetics in other first-person shooters, cosmetic monetization in the game has always been problematic. And regardless of the cosmetic value issue, the skins for this year’s Lunar New Year event are incredibly boring.

The main skin advertised as the poster for this event is the Hu Tou Mao skin for Mei. While this skin is a nice nod to the Year of the Rabbit, by adding bunny ears to Mei’s hat and decking her out in red and gold, it doesn’t change much from her basic outfit without the ears. The skin costs 1000 Overwatch Coins, which is about $10.

This is a very common Lunar New Year event skin that many people like, especially as the main selling point for the first Lunar New Year event.

The other two skins shown, the Kekachi Echo skin and the Masked Dancer Moira skin, both bring back old Lunar New Year skins for the 2023 event.
